Tips for producing embossing dies

For the best embossing results, the negative (female) die must be enlarged somewhat to prevent tearing of the paper.

Producing embossing presses with CorelDraw

  1. Draw the lower part as a graphic with white objects on black background (positive). Do not define any contour lines
  2. For the upper part, the object must be enlarged and mirrored (black objects on white background) :
    - Duplicate, mirror and invert the positive form
    - On the object (negative) created in this way, now draw contour lines (line weight: 0.15 - 0.25 mm, white color).
  3. Manually draw cutting lines (for both objects) and start engraving. The engraving depth should be approx. 0.8 mm (the thicker the paper, the deeper)
